Join Net Impact professional members and friends for a summer BBQ at the Octagon Park on Roosevelt Island Saturday, July 25th!

Roosevelt Island is a hidden gem in New York City, and if you haven't been out there yet, now's your chance!

You'll get to enjoy:

• Amazing views of the Manhattan skyline along the East River
• The Octagon tennis courts -- for you avid tennis players!  $10 for a day pass.  Contact: calgary.brown@gmail.com for details on how to get a day pass.
• A walk through of Roosevelt Island's beautiful community garden
• For those of you with small children, there's a kids play area in the Octagon park
• A scenic and relaxed atmosphere with good food and cool people!

What to bring:

• You and your Friends!
• Folding chairs or blankets to sit on
• Your own water bottle/s (we're not buying water folks)
• Your own drinks.  We'll have some juice and soda drinks available.  Please note that this is a public area and that alcohol is officially not allowed.

1) Take the F train to Roosevelt Island station or catch the tram on 59th and 2nd Ave in Manhattan and take it across the East River.  Note: You can use your metro card for the tram.  Taking the tram is a very nice scenic experience if you've never been on the tram.

2) Walk north along the Manhattan skyline/East River away from the Queenboro Bridge.  If you are walking under the bridge you're going in the wrong direction!  You can also catch the RED Roosevelt Island bus from the tram or in front of the F subway entrance and take it to the last stop which is 888 Main St, Octagon Apartments (about a 5 minute ride).  A bus ride is 25 cents one-way.

3) The walk to the Octagon Park is 10-15mins.  The Octagon will be to your right, and look out for blue and white balloons.  That's where we'll be!  If you are coming by bus, just walk towards the back of the building that faces the East River and look for the balloons.
